There are four parts to quality control at LTC: our choice of translators, our proprietary project management system, our random sampling techniques, and our feedback and review system.

Accredited and Tested Translators: Each translator chosen for your project (1) holds at least one graduate degree such as a Juris Doctorate, Legum Magister (Master of Laws)or Ph.D., (2) has work experience relevant to the subject-matter they are translating, (3) is fully certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) or equivalent body, (4) ranks in the top 5% of linguists who have taken our internal exams, (5) has proven to be responsive, talented, and committed to the projects they undertake.

Smart Project Management: The best legal translation project management system allows project managers, translators, editors, and proofreaders to coordinate their efforts easily. We designed our quality control system to allow each team member to perform their roles in real time. They support each other's specialized roles, check each other's work, share terminology databases and research, and receive anonymous feedback from our independent quality assurance agents. Process improvements are continuous. Our project management system is "smart" because it adapts to the needs of any project and allows different skill sets to complement one another instantaneously.

Random Sampling for Quality Assurance: One unique aspect of our project management system is our reverse translation tests on random samples from each project. In short, we extract segments from each document along with their matching translations. We send the translated segments to a quality control linguist who attempts to reverse the translation without seeing the original. The quality control linguist compares their reverse translation to the original to determine whether the translation conveys the meaning, context, style, and tone found in the source document.

Retranslation Services: We have retranslated hundreds of legal documents sent to us from individuals, law firms, and companies. Too often translation companies that do not specialize in legal translation services produce poor or unnatural translations. We provide Retranslation Services to correct your poorly translated documents.
